Although we discussed the topic often sophomore year I am really fasinated with hegemony; the study of how people in power retain power. One also has to look at the flip side of why oppresed peoples don't rebel or to what extent they can be pushed before rebelling.
Henry IV Part I deals predominantly with this topic. The climax of the novel concerns Henry and Hal's attempt to salvage their authority over the rebelious factions.
